The Uruguay River in Concordia, Northern Argentina, holds some of the largest Golden Dorado anywhere. What makes this place so unique from our view is our CONCORDIA GUIDING PROGRAM: drift and wade fishing for Golden Dorado up to 40lbs.

Drift fishing is done from large skiffs as well as our 15ft. Cataraft which was especially designed to access to the so called "Salto Chico" area when water levels are low.

Our fishing runs the entire year, with peak season going from September to December and again from February to June.

Latitud Sur Anglers offer a low-cost alternative for self-sufficient anglers who don’t mind a little less luxury on their trip, yet appreciate living their passion of the outdoor life in unspoiled nature. Our itineraries are based on camping setups to lodge our guests, enabling great mobility and the ability to fish a variety of spectacular Patagonian waters without losing valuable fishing time to lengthy and unnecessary lodge transfers. A word about our philosophy

We enjoy a hearty meal accompanied by nice Argentine wine, hanging out with our fishing buddies after a nice day of fishing. We particularly appreciate “Asado” or “Carne al Spiedo” cooked on an open fire and rustic lodging without fancy chefs to go with an authentic, tailor-made fly fishing trip. The access to the upper reaches of the Rio Barrancoso as well as a smaller lagunas and its tributarys, enabling a bit more angling variety for visiting guests. The new location is also less affected by wind on the main lake. Heating, Power and (Sat-) Internet are available in this brand new cabin. The culinary aspects will also remain at the same level, very much appreciated by all our guests so far.

This new location will also facilitate access from El Calafate as the drive is shorter. This new location allows direct access to the lake within walking distance.

The Rio Gallegos, famous for its sea run browns is another highly-appreciated destination among the Patagonian anglers. We are offering this program that takes you off the beaten path, away from of classic lodge-style fishing and its fancy cuisine.

We offer authentic fly fishing trips in a rustic atmosphere instead.

All pools are either accessible by 4x4 vehicles or short walks.

This is probably the most diverse region of all of Patagonia: you can fish for many species. Brook trout, rainbow trout, brown trout and Chinook (King) salmon are willing to chase your flies.

Fishing and lodging is located in the Chubut Region in Central Patagonia. This has literally been our playground for many years with the most diverse fishing you will experience. Gin clear creeks and lakes, hidden among stunning scenery are only few of many angling venues.

About the seasons

The general fishing season down here usually runs from November to May. Weather prediction is like everywhere else: often unreliable, yet we can expect crisp temperatures during the early and late season, while mid-summer conditions bring nice dry fly opportunities on calmer days. Either way, fishing usually is superb all year long, but we still have our “prime time”: the first weeks of November and into December as well as April into May are great for our big brook trout. Most lakes offer great fishing the entire season.

Itenerary:
• Day 1, transfer from Esquel to Rio Pico half a day fishing
• Day 2 – 6, full fishing days
• Day 7, transfer back to Esquel

Amidst an impressive scenery of the ‘Torres del Paine’ National Park, the river Serrano drains a vast number of lakes and creeks into the Pacific Ocean.

During December and March, the Chinook salmon run the river, weighing up to 45lbs. The Serrano has fast currents with turquoise waters and is best fished with 15 ft Spey rods in line weights 10-11 with and heavy sinking lines.

Optional and not included:
For the non-angling guests and spouses we offer daily guided tours to National Parks highlights, like visiting the glacier lagoons, trekking and horseback riding. More information is available upon request.
